We are seeking a skilled and dedicated operating theatre (OT) nurse to join our surgical services team. 

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive perioperative nursing care by assisting surgeons, anesthetists, and the surgical team before, during, and after surgical procedures. 
  • The role involves preparing the operation theater, ensuring the availability and sterility of surgical instruments and equipment, maintaining aseptic techniques, monitoring patients throughout the surgical process, and supporting post-operative recovery.
  • The OT nurse will work closely with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care while adhering to infection control protocols, patient safety standards, and hospital policies. 
  • The ideal candidate should possess strong clinical knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and experience in handling various surgical specialties.
Roles & Responsibilites
  • Prepare the operation theater by ensuring all surgical instruments, equipment, and consumables are sterile and readily available.
  • Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and the surgical team during elective and emergency surgical procedures.
  • Perform pre-operative patient assessments and prepare patients for surgery according to established protocols.
  • Maintain strict aseptic techniques and infection control practices throughout all surgical procedures.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and clinical condition during perioperative care.
  • Handle, count, and document surgical instruments, needles, and swabs before, during, and after surgery.
  • Assist in positioning patients safely for different surgical procedures.
  • Provide post-operative nursing care and assist in transferring patients to the recovery room or ICU.
  • Maintain accurate perioperative documentation, nursing records, and surgical checklists.
  • Ensure proper functioning, maintenance, and safe handling of OT equipment and supplies.
  • Coordinate with surgeons, anesthetists, CSSD, nursing teams, and other departments for smooth OT operations.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, NABH compliance activities, and continuous nursing education programs.
