- To provide optimum quality of effective and efficient emergency care within the contract resources available to the hospital.

Roles & Responsibilites
- To contribute to the development of excellence in clinical practice through research, audit, and undergraduate and postgraduate training.
- To assist in the development and further expansion of the critical care services in the hospital in its aim to be a major provider of emergency services.
- To take responsibility for the professional supervision and development of trainee pediatricians within the specialty. This will include appraisal of junior doctors.
- Responsible for the clinical care of critically ill patients admitted to ICU according to generally accepted standards
- To develop and maintain good communications with general practitioners and appropriate external agencies.
